This is an exceptional vehicle, which began life as a Kombi van (with windows and rear seating) and was lined and trimmed out and used with the rear seats as a car from new. It has never been used as a commercial vehicle and is in immaculate condition. The camper conversion was custom built for me to a high specification by a professional convertor just at the end of last year and has only been used on one trip so is effectively new. The uprated custom-build specification included Karat (airport limo - the highest level of soundproofing to the cab, rear and bonnet area) making for exceptionally quiet use on the road. The insulation to the rear cabin is also enhanced with underfloor insulation as well as extra spec wall and ceiling insulation. This is the fastest, smoothest, most economical camper I have driven. It will cruise all day at 100mph with fingertip steering control, and yet I have returned 46mpg on a long distance tankful using cruise control. There is a SMEV 8000 hob powered by a gas bottle in the rear compartment and a matching SMEV 8000 sink with electric tap. There is a new and spacious Waeco 3 way fridge, which like water pump and everything else is powered by a large leisure battery also in the rear compartment – A sophisticated intelligent split charge unit automatically recharges this battery when driving, monitoring the main vehicle battery continuously (and prioritising it), only charging the leisure battery when the main one has reached a good state of charge. The Leisure battery then receives an intelligent charging program up to 30 amps that is much faster and more effective than the usual simple split unit which only trickle charges. A Zig unit monitors the batteries and controls the internal lighting, water pump and extra power sockets that I use for recharging camera batteries, mobile phone and laptop. Curtains are fitted to the rear sleeping area and there is an extra auxiliary curtain system for quick use that runs behind the cab. There are too many features and extras to detail - such as, tinted privacy glass, clear indicators, wind deflectors, sportline grill, VW factory alloys and wide profile tyres, cab carpet, swivel passenger seat, anti-lock braking system, captains seats with armrests, cruise control etc. Oh and its recently had a full service with the all important cambelt change so no worries for the next 60k, and there is a new MOT. Tax is til September. If you would like a new camper but can’t afford it, this looks, feels and drives like new, and will be good for twenty years use at under half the cost. £13750 ono for more pictures and further info please email martin.r.parry@btopenworld.com.
